If you’re a fan of football (or not) you’ve likely heard about how Liverpool wonderkid Raheem Sterling started on the substitutes bench for England’s recent Euro 2016 qualifier with Estonia in Tallinn after complaining of feeling tired.

Although the statement was probably the right decision and showed bravery it hasn’t seemed to help him considering the general public’s opinions on work ethic, lazy teenagers and the stratospheric wages given to footballers…

The story blew up further when it was found out that he partied with Danny Welbeck and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in a London nightclub until 3am – only one day after…

We understand that having the world on your shoulders for club and country can be a difficult thing at the age of 19 so with this in mind we decided to help young Raheem out and find a few jobs for him where he can put his feet up a bit and relax a little. Granted they might not pay him as much as Liverpool Football Club but money isn’t everything, right?

1 – Lifeguard - First and foremost this job requires sitting down 90% of the time, a great advantage for those not looking to exert themselves too much. Raheem will be able to use his well renowned speed to save people from drowning in the shallow end. The role does unfortunately require periods of concentration though so there is a potential negative there.

2 – Bed Tester - Laying down on the job, quite literally. A bed tester role will allow Raheem to maintain his energy and catch some precious zzz’s when the manager isn’t looking. Unfortunately we don’t do bed testing roles just yet but you can find out more about them here.

3 – Diving Instructor - A part time diving instructor role will let Raheem perfect his diving technique, a vital component in any attacking players skillset nowadays.

4 – Accountant - This job obviously revolves around the ability to count large sums of money and although Raheem isn’t on a ‘huge’ contract just yet we believe he could take to this role like a duck to water.

5 – Creche Manager - Raheem’s partner of the time had a child in 2012 when he was 17 so he could use his experience looking after children to good use. This also gives him a chance to show off his excellent dribbling ability to an understanding audience.

So there we have it, 5 potential career changes for a football superstar who might want to take life a little easier…
