Job Description
Job Title: Health, Safety & Environmental Officer
Location: St Andrews, Fife
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
We are looking for a dedicated Health & Safety Officer to join our fantastic Engineering team at Fairmont St Andrews. As Health & Safety Officer you will ensure that St Andrews Bay Development Ltd comply with all local, national , governmental and corporate Legislation, Acts, Rules, Regulations and Standards pertaining, but not limited to H&S, Fire, First Aid, Crisis Management, BCP, CSR & Environmental.
What you will be doing:
- Perform the role of Resort H&S Officer - co-ordinating, implementing and responsible for all duties that are required by H&S legislation
- Ensure the provision of detailed reports on all incidents to our Senior Leadership Team, where there has been a serious breach of H&S
- Ensure the resort is fully compliant with fire regulations and legislation - updating all fire evacuation plans and fire risk assessments quarterly, Complete Corrective Action Plans
- Chair and attend monthly operational Health and Safety Meetings
- Liaison with all HOD's to ensure departmental objectives/accountabilities are met
- Develop and deliver training to associates on matters of personal safety, crime prevention and all related topics
- Develop and implement H&S SOP's and Processes
- To investigate and report on any workplace accident /incident
- Maintain Legislative related documentation in an audit ready state
- Regular Inspections and testing of life critical equipment
- To be available for any emergencies
- To ensure all First Aid stations and Crash boxes are kept complete and maintained
- To be aware of all existing Job Safety Analysis and work towards an accident-free safe working environment with a view to conservation of property and life
- To provide cover for the Loss Prevention dept, during holiday and sickness
- To provide a daytime service for this department enabling continual investigation/searches to take place
- Other duties as directed by the Director of Facilities (and or GM/Dir of HR)
Qualifications
- Experienced Health and Safety professional with strong communication, organisational and administrative skills
NEBOSH qualification or equivalent is essential for this role
Knowledge of security measures
