We are looking for an Assistant Development Manager who will work closely with the Development Managers and Asset Management Team at early stages to understand and input into shaping larger accretive works. The ADM will then support the delivery of projects, including assisting in handing over to iQSA Operations and the Property Management team. 

Key Role Responsibilities: 

  • Support the DMs to provide early stage advice to the Asset Management team as to cost, time and practicalities for new projects and larger accretive works to the existing estate
  • Assist in processes to obtain and review information on prospective new sites through technical due diligence
  • Actively input to the process to obtain consents and review costs
  • Build and maintain cost plans for projects, modelling cash flows (including financing costs) tailored to each project and deal structure
  • Support the building and management of external teams, where required, to deliver all stages of projects in a timely fashion
  • Support continual improvement in quality and cost with respect to design and delivery
  • Pro-actively manage project risks
  • Ensure information flows are maintained, with regular reporting to the DMs and liaison with internal stakeholders
  • Support to other members of the Projects team on an ad-hoc basis
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of contract and construction methodologies 

Experience & Skills:   

  • Strong project management skills, managing, or supporting the management of, internal and external teams across multiple sites at the same time
  • Developed negotiating skills with a proven track record of dealing with complex matters across multiple parties
  • Ability to interpret complex written and financial data
  • Good technical knowledge with an understanding of a variety of procurement methods, plans, specifications and programmes
  • Analytical and highly numerate
  • Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting parties
  • Articulate and energetic, with excellent communication skills
  • Experience in UK planning application process
  • Experience in the student accommodation, hotel or residential sectors
  • Working in an owner/operator environment 

We work a hybrid working model with 3 days per week based at our Manchester office.
