Operations Manager - Hungerford, Berkshire

We are seeking a passionate, self motivated leader to join our small dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have experience within the leisure sector and will have undertaken a previous managerial role. Working with the General Manager you will contribute to the overall direction of the Club, taking ownership and responsibility for your department while being supported by the board of trustees. The role requires flexibility with working hours including opening, close and weekend shifts as part of the Duty Manager rota. As part of your role you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing the pool and plant room. managing staff, and ensuring the smooth running of the business.

Duties:

• Oversee staff rotas, holiday and absence
• Manage recruitment, inductions, performance and reviews with the General Manager
• Handle customer inquiries, memberships and complaints 
• Maintain compliance with company standards and procedures
• Ensure Health and Safety Compliance and pass annual audits
• Manage the swimming pool, spa pool, sauna and steam rooms including all associated plant
• Collaborate with other departments to achieve business objectives
• Ensure the daily running of the club and its classes for the benefit of its members and guests

Experience:

• Proven experience in a managerial role within the leisure industry 
• Experience in managing the maintenance and upkeep of a leisure facility
• Knowledge of budgeting, financial planning, and reporting
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Passionate about customer service.

Qualifications & Skills:

• An understanding and experience of Health and Safety regulations
• IOSH / NEBOSH or other relevant, recognised H&S qualification
• Pool Plant Operator Certificate
• First Aid & Pool Rescue Qualifications (These can be provided to the right candidate)
• Flexible team player
