Contracted Hours: Full Time

Job Type: Regular / Permanent 

Hours Per Week: 43.5

Salary/Rate of Pay: £27,000 per annum

A catering manager is responsible for overseeing the catering services, planning, developing & implementation of new working policies for increasing business and meeting the requirements of the customers by maintaining the hygiene standards.  Making arrangements for the raw material, maintaining discipline within the team and executing the approved standard policies are some of the basic job duties of a catering manager.  A catering manager should pose excellent interpersonal skill, management abilities and experience to handle the high-profile parties, etc. Therefore, a catering manager plays a vital role in improving the catering standards. 

Main responsibilities include but are not exclusive to: 

  • Good communication skills, managing proper catering arrangements for ensuring the satisfaction level of customers. 
  • Ability to coordinate with the chef & kitchen staff and demonstrating the prepared menu for a particular function by considering the client’s requirements. 
  • Experience of generating business from the existing clients, maintaining the health & safety standards, contacting the raw material suppliers and attending the meetings with the potential clients, etc. 
  • To appreciate how different departments within the Company operate and inter-relate. 
  • To accept the importance of maintaining and improving standards in the business 
  • To enlist the appropriate expertise to deal with technical problems. 
  • To read and work to all notices in your work area. 
  • To assist the Head Chef/Chef in providing the highest standard of cooking and services in all catering areas 
  • To work to menus and receipts as advised by the Head Chef/Chef. 
  • To take delivery and store food items as directed by Head Chef/Chef. 
  • To complete temperature checks as directed by Head Chef/Chef. 
  • To comply with portion control as per menus and record all waste. 
  • Cleaning duties as per cleaning requirements/specifications. 

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications 

  • Relevant Food Hygiene Certification required. 
  • Proven experience working within a kitchen environment required.
