Facilities Engineer
Location: Fulwood Hall Hospital, Preston
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Full-time
Salary: Depending on experience + Benefits
Summary:
Fulwood Hall Hospital was opened as a purpose built facility in 1986. In 2009 the hospital completed a £9m pound investment to refurbish and expand the site, making it the largest independent hospital in Lancashire and one of the largest in the north of England.
The hospital has six consulting rooms supported by a fully equipped outpatient treatment room, a pre-assessment unit for screening and assessing patients prior to surgery as well as modern imaging facilities and a brand new physio and sports therapy department including gymnasium.
The role:
We currently have a great opportunity for a Facilities Engineer to join our team at Fulwood Hall Hospital, based in Preston.
What you'll do:
- Ensure legal compliance by following planned preventative maintenance schedules and policies along with helping to develop and assist with any required changes.
- Carry out reactive works across site to include all aspects of general maintenance.
- Provide Engineering Maintenance and breakdown support to enable the continuous operation of the hospital.
- Provide competent Technical, Health, Safety and Environmental support & assistance.
- Report directly to the Engineering manager and support in carrying out their role.
- Review fault logs and monitor systems to highlight any potential faults.
- Allocate appropriate resources to each task within your area of responsibility.
- Occasionally working outside the hospital working hours to provide access for contractors and carry out essential maintenance. A TOIL system is in place and encouraged.
- You may be required to help out at on other sites in the North West.
What you'll bring with you:
- Experience within a Maintenance Environment or similar supportive role.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding and the willingness to train in the Legionella prevention requirements within hospital buildings.
- Demonstrate a high level of organisation & time management skills, particularly in an environment with multiple and often conflicting priorities.
- Display fault finding techniques and safe operation of lock off systems.
- Willingness to attend training vital to carrying out and developing your role within the hospital.
- City & Guilds Qualifications or equivalent.
- Previous Hospital Facilities experience is desirable
- Logical and practical approach to challenging situations whilst always putting the safety of patients and colleagues at the forefront of everything
