Job Type: Casual with hours for School Holiday camps and additional bookings during school term

We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate individuals to complement the Sports team at Aberdeen Sports Village. Specifically, we require dynamic and engaging leaders to organise, supervise and deliver sessions of multiple sports and activities to children aged P1 – S3 during ASV’s school holiday children’s programmes.

As well as being organised and a confident communicator, you flourish in a busy environment and understand the importance of being a team player. You bring enthusiasm, a passion for excellent customer service and a 'can-do' attitude.

Purpose:

Deliver fun and safe sessions for children age P1 – S3 in a variety of different sports and activities.

Main Duties:

• Supervise children at all times during the activity or camp
• Assist and complete the relevant administration tasks associated with the post, such as taking and maintaining registers of the children attending camps
• Assist with the set up and take down of equipment for coaching sessions
• Plan and deliver coaching sessions appropriate to the ability of participants (as appropriate to qualifications and experience), providing fun, safe and inclusive activities for all participants
• Abide by and promote sound ethics, child protection, fair play and equal opportunities
• Plan and implement sessions relevant to the age and ability of the children
• Attend Continual Professional Development courses as and when available and appropriate as indicated by your Line Manager
• Maintain the highest standards of supervision, health & safety and customer care in accordance with the facilities operating procedures
• Provide outstanding customer service, and to work effectively with customers and colleagues

The Successful Candidate

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

• Experience of working directly with children
• Experience of supervising groups

Desirable

• Experience in the co-ordination or delivery of sport, physical activity or children’s activities
• Experience in a customer facing role

Hours of work:

During school holidays, camps operate between the hours of 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday, with further opportunities for extended hours, or additional ad-hoc hours out with the school holidays.

This appointment will be made subject to the terms and conditions of employment of Aberdeen Sports Village. ASV will request a PVG Scheme Record prior to employment.
