Colfe’s Leisure Centre

Colfe’s Leisure Centre operates as a dual-usage site in conjunction with Colfe’s School, providing the school with sports facilities during weekdays and external members during early mornings, weeknights & weekends. Colfe’s Leisure Centre is based on the grounds of Colfe’s Independent private school, accommodating a heated indoor swimming pool, free weight gym, cardio gym, sports hall, exercise classes, pitch/room hire and a host of other adult and children’s activities.

We are looking for an experienced, proactive and customer focused assistant manager to assist in the running of our school leisure centre, and swim academy. You will be responsible for leading and managing duty officers, recreation assistance and swimming teachers, providing exceptional service and standards in a safe environment.

Key Objectives:

  • To manage all aspects of the swim school, including the recruitment, training, rotas, payments, customer service/complaint handling, communication, and general swim school operations.
  • To manage the centre rota, ensuring lifeguards and duty officer shifts are covered and added to our payroll system.
  • To process centre payroll monthly, ensuring all hours are accounted for and details are correct.
  • Alongside the school HR department, ensure all staff have the correct documentation and are compliant.
  • To manage leisure centre stock, including swim wear, swim accessories drinks, snacks, and other relevant items.
  • Alongside the operations manager, ensure health and safety standards are achieved through our comprehensive PSOP, risk assessments and standard operation procedures.
  • To assist the operations manager in ensuring centre cleanliness standards are achieved, through our standard operating procedures and training.
  • To assist the operations manager in ensuring customer service standards are achieved, through our standard operating procedures and training.
  • To assist the centre manager in achieving financial targets and being part of the decision process for new ideas to drive revenue and profit.

Responsible for:

  • Duty Officers and Recreation Assistance/Lifeguards
  • Level 1, 2 swimming teachers and assistants
  • Swim Co Ordinator’s.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Previous experience of managing a swim school.
  • Previous experience in an assistant manager role.
  • NPLQ qualification, or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Pool Plant Operators Certificate.
  • Swim England Level 2 Swim Teacher.
  • Gym Instructor Level 2/3.
  • Experience using, I Class Pro booking system.
